A custard filled berry tart – painted from life – oil on 6″ x 6″ Gessobord.
The girl at the bakery counter was a bit confused because I wanted a specific tart. I felt I needed to explain that I wanted this particular tart because it had the best array of berries and was going to be used as my subject for a painting.
“You paint your food?!?” She looked at me like I was kidding or just saying that as an excuse to be picky about my baked goods. I smiled, said yes and asked if I could also have a mini tiramisu tart. They were both delicious.
